KnowLib is a knowledge discovery
and digital library research group from Department of Information
Technology, Lund University, Sweden.
KnowLib helps to build quality library services in the electronic
environment. It strives to develop integral digital library services
as a continuance of existing libraries.
KnowLib focuses on knowledge discovery and development of distributed
knowledge organization technologies and information systems. In
particular it explores the usability of knowledge organization systems
(thesauri, classifications, taxonomies, ontologies, gazetteers)
in the digital library context.
In achieving these objectives, KnowLib relies on knowledge from
both Library and information science and Computer science. Related
knowledge from linguistics, user information behavior and other
relevant fields are also integrated.
